How to delete it in the app#
The fastest way: deletion starts immediately, and you do not need to contact support.
- Open Settings in the Link app.
- Choose Account.
- Tap Delete account.
- Enter the phone number of your account — this is how we make sure it is you.
- Confirm the deletion.
The app will close and reset, and the account will stop working.
If you do not have the app at hand#
Phone lost, app deleted, unable to sign in — you can send the request by email.
Write to support@linkmessenger.me with the subject “Account deletion” and give the phone number the account is registered to. We will confirm that the request comes from the owner of that number and delete the account. We handle these requests within 30 days, usually sooner.
A month to change your mind#
The account stops working right after the request: you disappear from chats and your publications are hidden. You have a month to change your mind — sign in with the same phone number and the account comes back with its content.
If you have not returned within a month, the account and its content are deleted for good and cannot be restored.
What gets deleted#
- Account data: phone number, name, @username, profile photo and bio.
- Messages on your devices and the queue of undelivered messages on the server.
- Posts, short videos, stories and comments.
- Follows and followers, likes, reactions, super likes.
- The balance of your payment account, if you had one.
What remains, and why#
- Payment records — the amount, date and transaction identifier. Every company is required to keep these under accounting and tax law; they have nothing to do with the content of your conversations.
- Copies held by other people. Messages you sent are stored on the recipients’ devices, and forwarded or saved publications stay with whoever saved them. We cannot delete those from other people’s devices.
- Technical logs — records of errors and connections that contain no message content. They are overwritten automatically within a short time.
Cancel your subscription separately#
Deleting your account does not cancel a Link Premium subscription: it is arranged and charged by the app store, not by us. Cancel it before deleting the account:
- iPhone and iPad — Settings → your name → Subscriptions.
- Android — the Google Play app → Payments and subscriptions → Subscriptions.
If you skip this, charges will continue even though the account is gone.
